A young girl killed in the Bondi attack is being remembered by family as a happy child who “never stopped smiling.”

Sunday was a beautiful, warm day and 10-year-old Matilda had gone to Bondi Beach to celebrate the first night of Hanukkah with her parents, younger sister and friends.

What should have been a day full of fun and laughter turned to horror when two gunman opened fire on dozens of families who had gathered on the grassy park next to the beach.

Matilda was wounded in the shooting and had lost a lot of blood, her aunt Lina told CNN. She was rushed to hospital where doctors fought to save her.

But her injuries were too great, and Matilda, the youngest victim of the terror attack, did not make it
