4 people were killed and 9 more were hospitalized with injuries in a shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, USA
Officials said the suspect they have in custody is a 14-year-old boy named Colt Gray who was a student at the school. Gray—who was taken into custody after surrendering to police who responded to the shooting will be charged with murder and handled as an adult; Chris Hosey with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said.
Hosey identified the deceased victims as students
- Mason Schermerhorn and
- Christian Angulo, both 14, and teachers
- Richard Aspenwall, 39, and
- Christina Irimie, 53.
Only 2 of the 9 injured victims remained in hospital on Wednesday night, and all 9 are expected to survive, Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith said.
