Kyiv helicopter crash
On 18 January 2023, a Eurocopter EC225 Super Puma carrying the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Denys Monastyrsky, his deputy Yevhen Yenin and state secretary Yuriy Lubkovych, crashed at a kindergarten in Brovary, a suburb of Kyiv, Ukraine. The crash killed at least eighteen people, including Monastyrsky, Yenin and Lubkovych; three children were also among the fatalities, while at least 29 others were injured.
Reactions
Many Ukranian, European, and American officials, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, Ukranian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, European Council President Charles Michel, and U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Bridget A. Brink, paid tributes to the victims and expressed condolences.
