Maxim Medinsky

Another journalist, Maxim Medinsky, was killed in a battle with Russian invaders in the Kharkiv region.

Ukrainian journalist Maksym Medynsky, who fought in the Armed Forces, died. He told: "I was never afraid to lose my life, I was just afraid to lose it for nothing. Therefore, there was no question for me: to go to war or not. There is a war in my country, so I have to defend it".

The journalist’s company came under enemy fire on April 29. The man was only 33 years old.

It is noted that Maxim Medinsky went to the front as a volunteer back in 2014. During the year he performed combat missions on the front line, for four months he was near the Donetsk airport. Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022, Medinsky has gone to defend the country again.  

“In peacetime, Maxim, a talented journalist and designer, a true master of his craft, worked for government projects. In the last year, the Reform Office of the Ministry of Energy, the Department of Communications of the Ministry had the honor to work with him in a team,” the message says.

The Ministry of Energy notes that Maxim was a patriot of his country: “How else? Who should do it? There is always something to lose. But it is important not only to be afraid of losses, but also to protect your own.”
