Austrian chess composer and writer

The Austrian Helmut Roth published a biography of Johann Berger in 1982 under the title Der Schachkomponist (The Chess Composer). Roth kept his distance from current chess events for many years and only acted as a passive supporting member - for example in the Schwalbe, to which he made several generous donations in addition to his sponsorship contribution.
