Jacqueline Victoire Brookes (born July 24, 1930) is an American actress known for her work on stage, off and on Broadway. She won an Obie Award for Best Actress in 1963 for Six Characters in Search of an Author and received her Theatre World Award in 1955 forThe Cretan Woman.
Brookes was born in Montclair, New Jersey, the daughter of Maria Victoire (née Zur Haar) and Frederick Jack Brookes, an investment banker. She was educated at the University of Iowa and was a teacher at the Circle in the Square Theatre School, as well as a life member of The Actors Studio.
