Karl Friedrich Amenda is a priest from Talsi (Latvia), a close friend of Beethoven.
He worked as a music teacher in many places in Europe. Arriving in Vienna, he became a music teacher for the children of Mozart. Then I met Beethoven. In connection with the death of his father (or brother), Amenda was forced to quit his job in Vienna and return to Latvia, but he corresponded with Ludwig for the rest of his life.
He was the first to be informed by the great composer that he was gradually beginning to lose his hearing.
He married a Swiss woman Žanete Benuā (Jeanette Benoit) whom he met during his travels in Europe. They had 13 children.
