Motion Picture Screenwriter, Producer. He was best known for his story contribution to the critically acclaimed film "Glory" (1989), which earned him a Golden Globe nomination.
The son of actress Laura Devon, he spent part of his childhood living in Wyoming with his father following his parent's divorce. During the latter of his youth, he lived in Hollywood due to his mother's acting career and entered the industry himself with minor acting parts in the TV series "Flipper" (which happened due to his stepfather at the time was Brian Kelly the star of the show). After his mother's marriage to composer Maurice Jarre, he was adopted.
Captivated with history as a child (especially the Civil War), Jarre drew from his knowledge of such subjects which became the basis of the stories for "Glory" and "Tombstone" (1993). Among his other credits include "Rambo: First Blood Part II" (1985), "The Devil's Own" (1997) and "The Mummy" (1999). He died from heart failure. (bio by: C.S.)
