Janos Mikitovics writes the following on his website:
Born in 1890 in Budapest
† 1957. December 26th
He played chess since he was tenth. His first puzzle was released in 1909. He dealt with two special branches of the puzzle, the final and the helper mat.
He was one of the greatest experts in the final in Hungary.
Due to his relationship with Troitzky, he dealt a lot with the problem of winning the two hussars against the dark builders. His research is also of great importance in the field of pawn endgames.
In 1931, an unfinished series of articles on conjugated bodies was published in Magyar Sakkvilág.
Under his chess matts, his five-step chess matt is characterized by their very original ideas and their difficult deciphering.
"Let us put the chess puzzle on our board ... and expect the unexpected in this art form in which paradoxes are the order of the day!"
(Barry Barnes, 1976)
He was also an excellent expert in other areas of solving puzzles and often aligned two- and three-stage competitions.
