Anton (Teun) Balemans

Anton (Teun) Balemans (The Netherlands, * Tuesday, 18.12.1951 -  † Wednesday, 03.04.2019).

Philosopher, strong chess player, chess composer of chess studies (60) and author  

He had lived most of his life in Eindhoven, finished gymnasium alpha, studied some time and became a freelance and parttime journalist. His other interests, such as literature, get in the way of a professional career. In his youth, he was a strong over the board player, and became known as a first team player for Eindhoven with a rating of circa 2300 elo. When he was about twenty - one his interest shifted to endgame study composing.
