Hungarian chess composer of endgame studies (about 150) and International Master

Born in Debrecen on 18 February 1934, †17 November 1997.

Life                                                                                                                                                                                             He was an architectural engineer, lived in Budapest.

Chesscomposition                                                                                                                                                                     His first art work was published in 1954, His first competition success was in the same year. Of his 57 works entered in competitions, 52 chess composition were awarded prizes. He has received 39 prizes, including 18 first prizes, 10 commendations and 3 commendations. 9 papers are listed in FIDE albums. He is a ten-time study author champion and perpetual champion, and has also finished second once. In addition to studies, he has occasionally composed multi-step mate problems.

He has been a tournament referee in four international chess study author competitions of the Hungarian Chess Life. He has written several articles.                                                                                                                                                              For many years he was a successful member of the chess team and the puzzles section of the TE of Typography, and from 1976 he was the head of the puzzles section.                                                                                                                           He declared himself a pupil of Dr. Jenő Bán. Both in terms of the results of his competitions and the quality of his works, he represented an international class.                                                                                                                                             His chess composer idol was Dr György Páros, whom he regarded as a great artist of harmonious unification. He explored elements of study that were coherent in content, and separated them in the form of twin positions, thematic deception, or other means.                                                                                                                                                                                 It is not difficult to discover in the logic of his works a kinship with modern two-step matrices.
