The Berlin teacher Bruno Oswald Sommer (20 March 1881-19 November 1971) was an outstanding theorist and practitioner of the New German School, who also liked to venture into the field of retro problems. Bruno Oswald Sommer had a long and successful composing career. Many compositions have been selected in the FIDE Album.
