Eeltje Visserman (* 24 January 1922 in Blokzijl; † 23 March 1978 in The Hague) was a Dutch composer of chess exercises. Eeltje Visserman used the pseudonym S. van Mierse
.
His life
Since 1938, Visserman composed more than 800 chess problems of all kinds, mainly two- and three-move problems. He was editor of chess problem sections in the journals Tijdschrift van de KNSB and Probleemblad, as well as author of a number of articles on questions of chess composition.
Visserman was a civil engineer by profession and also worked as a publicist. He died in 1978 after a long and serious illness.

E. Visserman was a wonderful composer who deservedly won numerous composing tourneys. - He composed chess problems of all types, but mostly two- and threemovers. He was also the editor of a column in magazines "Tijdschrift van de KNSB" and "Probleemblad".
An anthology of his problems was published after his death: "Schaakproblemen van E. Visserman" by Albertus Marinus Koldijk, 1986.
