Chess composer

was one of the most famous French problem composers of the 19th century. He took part in the most important first problem tournaments: The Era 1856, Paris 1867 (3rd prize behind Bayer and Loyd) and came 3rd in the Stratégie tournament of 1875 (behind Bayer and Valle).
