Josef Eggl

Josef Eggl (born February 9, 1848 in Hallein, died June 4, 1884) was a painter from Hallein.

Life

His father Anton was also a painter. Josef Eggl's works typically reflect his academic training. He excelled in landscape painting and portraits in particular. Many of his works also provide important evidence of the city's topography.

Honors

Josef-Eggl-Straße in Hallein is named after him.
