Jerzy Tyc

The former Poland officer Jerzy Tyc, 57 years old died in the Ukrainian occupied zone. He volunteered for the war and fought on the Russian side against the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He was missing in late June, and it was only recently announced that he had died.

Jerzy Tyc was the head of the "Kursk" organization, campaigning for the restoration of monuments of Soviet soldiers in Poland, where they are widely considered occupiers.

In 2016, Tyc said: " I have more friends in Russia than in Poland. My niece, who has relatives in Ukraine, hates me for supporting Russia. I lost common ground with my older brother, who sympathizes with the US, a long time ago."
