Biography

Gadyuchkina was born on 5 December 1910 in Norskoye, Yaroslavl Governorate, Russian Empire (now Russia, part of Yaroslavl) to carpenter Mikhail Krotov and his wife Yevlampiya Krotova. When she was young, her mother died of cancer.

At the age of 15, she started work at the Red Pass (Russian: Красный Перевал) spinning factory, remained there for all of her working life. She worked first as a laborer, then spinner and assistant foreman and was recognized as a Stakhanovite for her hard work. She reported working "12-hour shifts" with only one day off each week. She worked there for 40 years.

Gadyuchkina married Sergey Petrovich Gadyuchkin, a naval officer, and at first, they lived with his sister's family in a single room. Later when Sergey Gadyuchkin was promoted, they were given separate housing. Together they had five children, but only three survived to adulthood: two sons Sergei and Evgeny and one daughter Rita. When she was 45 years old in 1956, her husband died from a workplace injury, but she never remarried saying that "a stranger wouldn't want her children".

At the age of 103 in November 2014, she was reported to have six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. In her old age, she became an avid reader; she was said to "devote all her free time to reading". She read books and newspapers and tried to stay up-to-date on sociopolitical matters. She lived with her son Oleg, but moved in with her granddaughter Olga in 2021.

In January 2022, she visited the Yasnye Zori sanitorium in Yaroslavl.
In June 2023, her hearing was tested by hearing center "Rainbow of Sounds" and she was fitted with a hearing aid. She was taken care of by many of her relatives, including children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her granddaughter Ekaterina Musinova visits her every year. As of May 2025, she lived in Yaroslavl.

Death

Gadyuchkina died on 29 November 2025, at the age of 114 years and 359 days.
