Andrew Jarema

Son of Leon Jarema and Barbara Skop. Married to Gladys "Lottie" Romanik 10 Sep 1949. Obit: Andrew Jarema, 79, of Boyne Falls, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2002, at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. Buried in St. Augustine Cemetery. Andy was born April 7, 1923, in Boyne Falls, the son of Leo and Barbara (Skop) Jarema. He grew up in Boyne Falls and worked at various places until he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After the war, he returned to Detroit where he met and married Gladys "Lottie" Romanik on Sept. 10, 1949. Together they lived in Troy and Andy worked for Asphalt Paving Co., as a mechanic. He was a member of St. Leo's and Guardian Angel Catholic churches. He retired in 1988 and returned to Boyne Falls in 1990. He was a member of St. Augustine Church, Northern Michigan Antique Flywheelers Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars Boyne City Post, and never lost his love of working on tractors. Survivors include his wife, Gladys "Lottie" Jarema, of Boyne Falls; two children, Roger (Karen) Jarema of Troy, Carol (Joe) Juszczyk of Boyne City; four grandchildren, Andy, Emily, Matthew, Jeff; one sister, Victoria Kosc, of Boyne Falls; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Stanley, Alex, Louis and Theodore, and his parents.
