Guliko Kontselidze

Guliko Kontselidze worked in the Zoo for 22 years. She brought up number of wild animals with her bear hands: tigers, lions, elephants... She fed them with her hands, soothed and lulled. Three weeks ago, a tiger playfully hurt her hand - so much so that it had to be amputated.

And what do you think? - Even in the hospital, she was concerned about him, about other tigers and her main desire was to return back to the Zoo.

On 11th of June Guliko reported on his facebook page that she was going back to her ‘offspring’’, that she would be doing her favourite job again – look after the animals.

And only two days later, after her return, a flood attacked Tbilisi, and primarily destroyed the zoo. Guliko could not stay home - safe. She and her husband Makho Chitadze and employee Givi Dvali without a hesitation threw themselves into cages to rescue animals.

Worst expectations came true next morning. They were with their ‘offspring’ until the end, until the very last breath...
