  • Janis Buda was married to Ausma Marta Buda in Riga in the year 1940. On January 27, 1945, his first child, Aija Buda was born in Jagow, Pommern, Germany while fleeing from the war. Subsequently, Janis Buda remarried and had another daughter, Aivita Buda who is now married and living in Jaunana, Latvia.

  • The reason I want to participate is because Janis Buda is the father I never met. My mother was seven months pregnant with me when she fled Latvia and my father stayed behind with his soldiers. I never knew much about my father but I do know that he remarried and I have a half sister in Jaunana new Aluksne. I would like to travel to Latvia this year to visit my fathers grave but am not sure which cemetery he is buried in. I want to add my name as his daughter to the site as well as the fact that he married my mother,

Ausma Marta Buda in 1940.
