ALBERTO FOGUELMAN (1923-2013)
Chessplayer, chess composer and writer of chess books
Life:
He was born in 1923 in Buenos Aires Argentina and in his private life he devoted himself to graphic activities.
Chess:
As a chess player he obtained the title of International Master and participated in high-level competitions with notable success. He was a member of the Argentinean team at the Leipzig Olympiad in 1960 and at the Varma Olympiad in 1962. He was especially outstanding in the international tournament in Santiago de Chile in 1965, achieving third place behind Smyslow and Geller.
Works:
He is the author of the books "Ajedrez de Lujo" and "Damas Casadas". His activity as a composer began in 1978, participating in international competitions and obtaining significant distinctions.
He was a judge of competitions and an excellent observer and commentator of live games. He died at the age of 90 on 9 December 2013.
