Edouard Pape (18.04.1870 - 06.03.1949)

The French chess composer Edouard Pape (18.4.1870 - 6.3.1949) created over 2000 chess problems, mainly two-move problems in the Good Companions style. He was chairman of the French Problemists' Association and distinguished himself in chess literature with an introduction for beginners and a chess novel (La Variante F.VIII du Gambit Camulogène). In "real life", Pape, who was born 150 years ago, was made a Knight of the Legion of Honour.
