Eliahu Fasher, Chess composer of chess problems

Eliahu Fasher (31 October 1920-30 March 2004),

who was born a century ago, came into contact with chess at an early age. In particular, Rubinstein's visit to Palestine (around 1930) sparked his enthusiasm for the game. He was editor of the Israeli magazine Haproblemai from 1955, and his many publishing activities also included the publication of several problem chess books, including Haproblemai Ha?Israeli [The Israeli Problemist] (1964), a collection of problems by Joseph Goldschmidt (1981) and a small compilation of 60 + 100 Chess Problems (1980).
