Gerard Evert Willem Van Altena (Netherlands, 1918) was a chess composer

  The Twin brothers Gerald Evert Willem van Altena and Johannes Jacobus Marcus van Altena were nephews of Van Hensbergen. They were born in Rotterdam in 1918. Johannes died in 1976. Gerald verificated taxes, and Johannes was agent of several firms. After the war, twins and nephew ceased composing. Gerald Van Altena composed about 40 endgame studies. The date of death of this chess composer is still unknown.
