Dipl.-Ing. Helmut (or Helmuth) Steniczka,
(Austria, Vienna * 08.06.1928 - † 04.01.1993 Date of burial) was an Austrian Chessmaster and excellent study composer of about 47 chess studies.
His first name Helmut is also often spelt ‘Helmuth’ at this point.
Chessplayer and Chess composer
Ing. Helmut Steniczka began composing in 1958. He paused in the early 1970s, before composing again in 1989 until his death.
Apart from a few exceptions, he concentrated on the informal tournament in "Schachecho", "Tidskrift för Schack", "Schach" and "Springaren". Some of his studies were published only after his death, and in this time he had his greatest success: 6 distinction in the "Schach 1991-1992" informal tournament with three prizes, overpowering the great study composer Genrich Kaparyan.
A speciality: The chessboard has 64 squares. He died at the age of 64, the same age as Bobby Fischer. and Elias Stein

Helmut (or Helmuth) Steniczka had a high claim to quality and was therefore not a very productive chess composer.
