Jan Heribert Knöppel (23.9.1918-15.7.1995) died 25 years ago. He was a versatile chess composer, from two-movement pieces to retro analyses. From 1962 to 1964 he worked for Springaren, and from 1966 he was a member of the editorial team of the Nordic-international magazine Stella Polaris, which was a joint Danish/Finnish/Norwegian/Swedish production.
