Mr. Evert Jan van den Berg was problem editor of De Schaakwereld.

This friendly man`s life was made difficult by an illness that lasted 19 years.

He died in 1939 a the age of 37.

In the FIDE Album he reached 4,50 points.

Occasionally he composed also an endgame study.
