 Prominent Chess composer of endgame studies

Radu Voia (1922 – 2006) was a prominent Romanian study-composer, member of the editorial staff of “Revista Romana de Sah” and an expert journalist covering tennis matches.

The city where he was born in 1922 is Kishinev.

This belonged to Romania from 1918 to 1940.

Now, it is the capital of the Republic of Moldova.

He passed away in 2006, in Bucharest.

He was the best journalist about tennis in Romania, all-times.

In his production there is a significant proportion of miniatures.

He lived in the city of Bucharest where he practiced journalism.

Voia began to compose chess studies in 1948, emphasizing very soon by some repeated successes in international competitions.

He was appointed International Judge for the chess composition by the FIDE.
