Sigurd Clausen

Dr. Sigurd Clausen (Sweden, * 04.01.1900 -  † 13.01.1965)

Outstanding chess teacher and chess composer born in Kristianstad, southern Sweden by profession economist and lawyer who settled in Stockholm and there worked as Secretary of the City Administration Council.
He began to compose in the year 1920 and his production comprises about 150 chess problems and about 48 endgame studies.

Dr. Clausen adopted the pseudonym of "Ekonom" when he published some articles on composition chess.
