Виктор Александрович Евреинов (Viktor Aleksandrovich Evreinov) ( November 11, 1908 , Smolensk – July 9, 1984 , Saratov ) – Soviet chess composer , candidate for master of sports in chess (1963), candidate for master of sports of the USSR in chess composition ( 1964 ).
Participant of the Great Patriotic War . Retired lieutenant colonel engineer. Teacher at the Higher Engineering Command School of Missile Forces in Saratov.
A strong and practical chess player. Master of Saratov 1965
Since 1940 published about 100 sketches. The first sketch was published in the magazine “Chess in the USSR” . In the mid-1950s he began to actively engage in sketch composition.
Evreinov received 55 awards at competitions, including 6 first prizes. Master of the Supreme Council of the USSR for Etudes ( 1970 ). Over the years, Evreinov's etudes were published in the FIDE albums (9 etudes in total).
One of the main advantages of Evreinov's endgame studies was the naturalness of the starting position.
