Valdis Amols born in 1922 in Jūrmala. A teacher, pastor and organist. He studied at the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church Gymnasium, Jurmala Secondary School in Dubulti, attended folk teacher courses in Cēsis, studied at the University of Latvia, Philosophy and Pedagogy faculty. Studied in the open academic theology courses on the basis of studies at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Latvia. Worked in 1st and 2nd Jūrmala primary school. Served as an organist in the churches of Dubulti, Bulduri, Liepāja and Landze. After the Second World War, he was assigned to serve the congregations of Landze, Užava and Zlēku. Served in Piltene, Zlēku, Ventspils, Sakasleja, Puze, Ugāle and Užava congregations. He has spent most of his life in the congregations of Dzirciems, Engure, Mērsrags, Balgale, Ķemeri and Dubulti. In 1984, he was elected by the General Synod as an adviser to the Consistory. From 1987 he was the secretary of the plenary session of the Consistory. From 1986 to 1989, he was the acting dean of the Kandava district.

He served as an assistant pastor at Piltene Lutheran Church at the end of World War II.

At the Landze Lutheran Church on June 24, 1945, while still being a verger, he held his first service and baptized three children. At the age of 23, Valdis Amols was the youngest pastor in Latvia at that time.

Many years later, on the last day of his life, he again served in the Landze Church on September 12, 2004. Landze Church celebrated its 303rd anniversary. At the age of 82, Valdis Amols was a senior pastor who was still very active.

From 1957 to 2000 he served in the Engure congregation.

From October 1967 to 1994 he served in Ķemeri congregation.

In 1967 he became a pastor of Dubulti Evangelical Lutheran congregation.

On November 18, 1990, after 28 years of absence, the Dubulti congregation gathered with Pastor V. Amola again for a service in the Dubulti church. The cross of the church tower was restored, the dismantled originl altar was rebuilt, the pulpit, chandeliers returned, the removed church benches, etc. were recovered.

In 2004, the Dubulti Evangelical Lutheran congregation bids farewell to its longest-serving pastor Valds Amols (served in the church for thirty-seven years of his life).

Buried in Lielupe cemetery.
