Valija Reijers

Valija Reijers, 84, died on March 4, 2014. She was born in Saldus, Latvia on January 14, 1930 to her dear parents Olga and Fricis Julius Gocs. Valija was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a wonderful grandmother, and worked as a volunteer in a specialized school for children with disabilities. She enjoyed fishing and drawing, and was kind, caring, generous, had a keen sense of humor, and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Valija is survived by her loving sons, Raimonds (Darlene) Reijers of Bridgewater, Arnis Reijers of Linden, Dainis (Dina) Reijers of Cedar Grove; seven wonderful grandchildren; and several children she helped raise who loved her as a grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband, Mikelis Reijers (February 28, 1991).

Viewing will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Somerville Funeral Home, 10 West End Avenue, Somerville, NJ 08876, (908-725-2079). Religious Services will be held at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial is private.
