David Gondia

David Konievich Gondia (1951 — 1995)., known by the nickname Pedro is a Georgian tsekhovik, later a major businessman. The owner of a construction company specializing in the construction of apartment buildings in Upper Svaneti.

In early 1995, Gondia received cooperative contracts for the construction of houses in Tbilisi, but there a large market share was occupied by the company Nateli Gza, owned by the criminal authority Dzambo Dzambidze, a supporter of Aslan Usoyan. Huge amounts of criminal money were laundered through the Nsa. After learning about Gondia's counterattack, Dzambidze began to demand that Gondia pay most of the profits to him. However, David refused and began to ask for help from the Mengrelian organized crime group.

In July 1995, Jumbo organized the assassination of David "Pedro" Gondia. Despite the protection of the Mengrelian organized criminal group, Gondia was shot by a man from a jeep, which was accompanied by two more cars, in the city center in front of dozens of witnesses. The suspect in the execution of the murder was Datiko Tomanidze (a killer, a member of the Dzambo Dzambidze group), but soon all suspicions were lifted. The police, who were actually under the control of criminal structures, did not take serious action. Already in 1996, the leader of the Mengrelian organized crime group Shakro Kakachia was killed.
