Ann Lise-Lotte Casper

Ann Lise-Lotte Fredriksson Casper (25 February 1967 — 13 January 1998).

Father — salesman and musician Ragnar Fredriksson.

Brother — Hans Ragnar Fredriksson (born 26 January 1963).

Mother — Anni-Frid Synni Lyngstad (Swedish: Anni-Frid Synni Lyngstad; born 15 November 1945, Ballangen, Nordland), better known as Frida — Swedish singer from the group ABBA.

Anni-Frid Lyngstad, known as Frida from the legendary group ABBA, has experienced numerous heavy losses in her life, from early childhood to recent years. These events are often described as a chain of "incomprehensible grief", about which she herself has spoken in interviews.

Early losses in childhood:

Frida was born on 15 November 1945 in Norway during the German occupation. Her mother, Synni Lyngstad (1926–1947), died of kidney failure in September 1947 at just 21 years old, when Frida was less than two years old.

Due to ostracism (children of German soldiers were persecuted), the family emigrated to Sweden, where Frida was raised by her grandmother Arntine "Agny" Lyngstad.

The grandmother died in 1970 at the age of 71 — this coincided with Frida's divorce from her first husband.

Death of daughter:

Ann Lise-Lotte Fredriksson Casper (1967–1998), Frida's daughter from her first marriage to Ragnar Fredriksson, tragically died on 13 January 1998 at the age of 30 in a car accident in Livonia (New York State, USA).

Death of husband:

Just a year later, in October 1999, Frida's third husband — Prince Heinrich Ruzzo Reuss von Plauen — died of lymphoma (cancer) at the age of 49.

These two consecutive losses were a huge blow to her.

Death of grandson:

Jonathan Casper (1989–2023), son of Lise-Lotte and Frida's only grandson through this line, died on 15 September 2023 at the age of 34 from stomach cancer.

This became yet another deep wound — Frida lost her only remaining descendant from her daughter.

Despite all these trials, Frida lives a quiet life in Switzerland with her partner Henry Smith (since 2007), engages in charity and environmental protection, and is a close friend of the Swedish royal family.
