Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas

A 21-year-old woman, identified as Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, tragically died after falling more than 130 feet during a bungee jumping activity at Skeleton Bridge in Brazil’s São Paulo state on Saturday.   Reports allege that she was released from the bridge without the safety rope being properly attached, triggering a criminal investigation and widespread shock.   Disturbing footages circulating online shows staff escorting her to the edge before she falls, while witnesses can be heard screaming that the rope had not been secured. Emergency responders rushed to the scene but were unable to save her.   Authorities have arrested six individuals as investigations continue into possible negligence and safety violations at the adventure site.
