Emilija Skoste

Born in 1903 (according to the metrics book 1901) Talsu apr., Oksle, “Pelciki” (house) in the family of six children of farmers Kārlis and Anna Bētiņš. Brothers: Krišs (b. 1906), Ansis (b. 1908). Sisters: Lēna (b. 1899), Marija (b. 1904) and Vēra Johanna (b. 1911). In 1922, her father moved with his family to Cēres pag. "Ceplīši" (house), with the right to buy out.

In 1920 she went to Riga, where she lived and worked for Mrs. Pētersone on Sermuliņa Street.

In September 1931, she married Dr. Augusts Skoste in St. Martin's Church in Riga.

Family with 2 children, lived in Ventspils. Frequent guests of "Ceplīši" in Cēres pag. Augusts Skoste was a member of organization “Aizsargi”.

In 1941, Dr. A. Skoste was included in the list of Ventspils residents intended for deportation to Siberia, but with the beginning of the war, they did not manage to deport him. ("Ventas Balss", 21.10.1941.)

During World War II in 1944, as the Soviet Army approached, the family emigrated by boat across the Baltic Sea to Sweden, where they settled on the outskirts of Stockholm.

In 1977, Emilija visited Latvia, Riga, illegally visited her family home “Ceplīši” and the grave of her parents.

Buried on May 18, 1980.
