Felix Dexter (1961 in Saint Kitts; died 18 October 2013) was an actor, comedian, and writer who lived in the UK.
Early life
Dexter was born in St Kitts, in the Caribbean, and moved to London with his family at the age of seven.
Radio
On BBC Radio 4 he featured in Down the Line (radio series) and starred in the dramatisation of Delete This At Your Peril part of The Bob Servant Emails written by Neil Forsyth
Television
Dexter's characters and comic writing have been featured on the BBC's The Lenny Henry Show, The Fast Show and The Real McCoy.
He played the title role of Captain Crimson on the Schools series Look and Read and also played more serious roles in dramas such as The Bill and Casualty.
He appeared on Absolutely Fabulous as Saffron's lover, John Johnston, and on the BBC series Grumpy Old Men. He co-wrote the 15 Storeys High episode The Ice Queen, in which he also appeared as a preacher.
Dexter also appeared on Have I Got News For You and in 2010's Bellamy's People, and made a cameo appearance in the 2010 Easter special episode of Jonathan Creek as a prosecution lawyer. Interestingly, Dexter gave up training as a barrister before becoming a comedian and as of 2011, remained a member of Gray's Inn.

In 2012, Dexter made an appearance in the BBC sit-com Citizen Khan as Omar, a Somalian Muslim who worked at the mosque in Sparkhill, Birmingham. His character in Citizen Khan was known for being comical due to his exaggerated Somalian accent and embracing friendliness.
Theatre
Dexter appeared in a season of three of Shakespeare's Late Plays in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon. In 2006 he starred in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" with Christian Slater and Alex Kingston in London's West End.
In 2009 he was scheduled to appear in Edgar White's Man & Soul at Old Spitalfields Market.
Dexter was a resident of north London.
Death
Dexter died on 18 October 2013 He had been suffering from multiple myeloma.
