Alex Marques

Carlos Alexandre Caseiro Marques (22 January 1993 – 17 November 2013) was a Portuguese football player who played as a forward and captained the FC Porto youth team.

Marques suffered a cardiac arrest after seven minutes of the competitive Division Three match between Tourizense and Carapinheirense.

On 18th November, a day before the crucial 2nd leg match between Sweden and Portugal, before training, Paulo Bento called his players together for a minute’s silent reflection in memory of Marques.

Same happened before the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship qualifying match between Israel and Portugal.
