Mr Traill, 51 , is understood to have been the civilian pilot at the controls of the chopper when it plunged into the Clutha Vaults, Glasgow, Scotland, UK
He was a former RAF man.
According to published in Dailyrecord, his second cousin Toni Lawson said that the pilot who died was David Traill. He was his relative and a Falkirk bairn.
According to Toni words, David served in the RAF in Iraq and Afghanistan.
David was an experienced flyer who served in the RAF as a Chinook pilot for 20 years, working on operations around the world including both Gulf Wars.
He was a qualified helicopter instructor and was the Chinook display captain in 2007.
He lived in Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire, with partner Lucy.
Family members have confirmed to media that David Traill was among the 8 people killed when a helicopter crashed Clutcha Vaults bar in Glasgow on Friday night.

The helicopter had a crew consisting of two police officers and a civilian pilot. It crashed into the crowded (about 120 were inside bar) Clutha Vaults pub on the banks of the River Clyde at 22:25 (local time) 29.11.2013
