Plane went down North Sea off France/Belgium Operation Marquise The Lancaster ME743 took off at 22:57 hrs to bomb the site at Marquise.

After a successful mission around midnight crossing the channel at 00:13 hrs a German night fighter shot them down. Only one crew members was recovered and washed up at Terschelling on the 07/09/44.

The remaining crew were classed as missing in action, believed killed on the 28/06/44.
