Voldemārs Grāvelis

Born in 1905 in Russia, Pskov Oblast. In the villiage of Zavizhye, Rozhnitskiy. In the family of the descendants of farmers Jānis and Minna Grāvelis who came from Latvia in the second half of the 19th century. Sister Kristīne, brother Jānis.

Married to Otīlija Elstiņa (daughter of Kārlis).

During the Soviet rule, when collectivization began, he joined the collective farm, in the 1930s the chairman of a small Latvian collective farm in the Strugi Krasnye district. Wife Otīlija - cook. Children Voldemārs (died in childehood), Leonīds (died in childehood), Amālija, Bernhards.

Arrested and taken away on December 10, 1937.

Shot on January 4, 1938 in Leningrad, at the age of 33.

After World War II, around 1946, Otīlija and her children moved to Latvia, Vidzeme with relatives. Voldemārs' children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren live in Latvia in Riga and Cēsis novads.

Rehabilitated in 1957.

Sentence: VMN Shot on January 4, 1938.

Place of burial - Leningrad.
