After the occupation and incorporation of Lithuania into the USSR in 1940 until 1953, Lithuanians endured a total of 35 deportation actions, in which from a few hundred to more than 40,000 Lithuanians were deported in a few days.

In total, more than 129,000 people were deported from USSR-occupied Lithuania.
